Welcome to the Birybarn Beagles website
......
- we hope you
enjoy our website and it gives you some insight into owing a
beagle.

Before you leave please
don't forget to sign our guestbook - thanks.
This website is
all about Barney (Timamso Maestro of Birybarn)
and Biscuit (Timamso Amour at Birybarn) our cheeky
beagles. Both 'boys' were bred by Georgina Kemp who lives in
Devon and who I am forever indebted to for allowing me to have two
such lovely (and naughty!) dogs and for all the help and advice
she gives me.
We originally
bought Barney as a pet - I had always wanted a beagle. I felt
they were an ideal sized dog, not too small and not too big.
They are very good natured and make excellent family pets. I
wanted a dog which would be happy to be out all day and would become
a part of the family and go almost everywhere that we do. I
also think beagles are extremely handsome dogs and have so much
character - when choosing a dog it just had to be a beagle for
us.
After looking for
several months we managed to find a beagle puppy for sale - we fell
in love with him the moment we saw him, he was just what we wanted,
a blanket tri-colour with a white blaze down his nose.
Several
people commented how lovely he was while we were out walking and one
day someone said that I ought to show him - I thought about it and
had grown up with horses so I was used to shows and gymkhanas, so
after some thought I decided to give it a go. We had nothing
to lose after all. Barney then started to attend the local
ringcraft classes held by the Guernsey Kennel Club and many
thanks must go to Carol and David Turner who run the
classes. Barney was about seven and a half
months old by then and wasn't used to being 'stacked' so we had to
work hard to train him.
Once we'd been in
one show I was hooked and Barney has done really well to say he was
'just a pet'.
Since then we
have bought another beagle - Biscuit - a tan
and white little boy, who we began showing in 2006.
